Jellyfish don’t feel the way we feel. They don’t have hearts. They don’t have brains. Instead, they have what humans refer to as a “nerve net” that controls all of their actions. Everything that they do is automatic and purely based on survival. They feel nothing, they are untouchable.
I love being heartless.
And yes, I mean that in the way you think.
I love not having a care in the world about how my actions affect you.
Is that selfish? Narcissistic even?
Maybe, but why should I care?
I love being able to mess with you,
Having the ability to physically entangle myself with everything around you.
Everything that affects you
Everything that you love
Because at the end of the day,
It means nothing to me.
I love strangling your thoughts,
Letting you choke on them
Making them fester inside of you
Letting them eat you alive.
Bit
By
Bit.
Repeating over
And over
And over again
Until those amazing little thoughts turn into hatred,
Until they become nothing.
I love reaching out and messing with every part of your life.
Letting my tentacles grab everything you love,
Not because I want it,
But because I know you adore it.
I love not having to worry about the thoughts of anyone around me,
I can mess with you all I want,
Make your life miserable.
But you can’t do anything to me,
I am invincible.
I am heartless.
I could never imagine being any other animal.
Having my thoughts
And emotions
And feelings
Affect everything around me.
I love not having to care.
I love not having a brain,
Or a heart,
Or thoughts.
Nothing in my life has ever mattered
And I like it that way.
