Bountiful laughter,
felines on the walls leer
at the frog and mouse.
The children listen
attentively, recounting
the times of the past.
A story is heard
time and time again when they
should have been asleep.
the feline pounces
at frog and mouse, fire erupts,
engulfs the curtains.
The pattern repeats
Over and over again
Until it gets cut…
