Upstairs, Downstairs, and the Inbetween Floor

The baby pink and powder blue and mint green rooms are on the third floor.
The tiger orange and fire red and obsidian black rooms are on the first floor.
The dirt brown and smoke grey and sterile white rooms are on the second floor.

Most of us live on the second floor.

The special ones get the other floors, we can only peek from the staircase
and see how much fun they’re having. Downstairs we watch them play games
with red-hot sticks and pointy-shiny things. It’s like hide and seek, though the
ones with horns seem to always be ‘It’. The ones without horns scream a lot.

Upstairs it seems calmer, they play relaxed games with boards and pieces.
Everyone is nice to each other and no one raises their voice or laughs too loud.
The ones with feathers pay close attention to the ones without constantly,
they teach the ones without to be as pleasant as possible.

The second floor is boring, there is no hide and seek or board games.
All we have is a sideways pole to walk under indefinitely.
